I think it is a given that when you try as many makeup/beauty products like me, you are bound to run into a couple you do not like- maybe more than a couple. I think it is okay not to like every product out there. I decided that I would share with you guys some products that did not work for me and why. A lot of these products are skincare products and some are a bit expensive which is why it I was a bit more disappointed by them.
L’Oreal Paris Pure-Clay Cleanser
This one was probably one of the biggest disappointments. I had purchased this because I love the L’oreal masks that come in the jar so I thought this would be just as good. I was wrong. This did nothing for my skin, I think it made my skin even more dull and it looked dirtier than what it already was. I felt that even after washing my face it would still feel dirtier and look dirty. Another thing that really annoyed me was that it was gray and would leaves mark in my sink and in my tub ( if I washed my face in the tub). I would then have to scrub it down to make sure that it did not leave any marks behind. All in all I would not recommend! It does not do what it says it should.
PMD Clean
Okay I think this fail hurt the most – mainly because it retails for $99. I got this in a Boxyluxe box a while back and was a bit excited for it but ended up disappointed. This product tries really hard to be a like the Foreo cleansing brush but it definitely falls short. I like the concept of this cleansing tool- I really do but it is simply did not work for me or my skin. I don’t think it really helps with the cleansing process. In fact, I think it just makes my skin worse. It was a bit harsh on my skin and I don’t think it really helped cleanse it as much as it should have. You can get manual silicone brushes from amazon for much cheaper and I think they do a much better job at cleaning and scrubbing your face than these sort of brushes.
Thayers Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Toner
I had heard numerous positive reviews about this toner and had heard that it does miracles for those who are suffering skin issues. However, it did nothing for my skin. Granted, I only used it a couple of times but typically you can tell after a couple of days if it made a difference to your skin or not. It just felt like I was applying water to my skin. I did not see any significant improvement. I have been using the Clinque clarifying lotion as a toner and honestly I can feel a difference after every use. But this one did nothing.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream
This one came a bit of a shock to me. At first I loved this cream, It was super buttery and I was just loving it. Now, to clarify, I actually love this cream, formula is amazing but the smell is a huge no for me. I really liked the smell at first. I used this cream a couple of times all over my body aftert I hoped out of the shower and it just melted onto my skin. But, after a couple of hours the smell would linger but it would not be a great smell. I am aware that smells wear off after a while but this one wore off in such a bad way. It smelled really awful and it got to the point where it kind of started irritating. I think if the smell was not so strong and wore off well, I would really love this product.
