I tried $1 Makeup, Here is What you should Try

I was 14 when I started using makeup. I hated asking my parents for money and at 14 I don’t think I really needed a $40 eyeshadow palette. I stuck mostly to drugstore products. I recently discovered this website that claimed to sell $1 makeup. I then saw that so many influencers had also tried it and raved about it. I decided to give it a try for myself and see if it was worth it.

The website is called Shopmissa.com. Now I was planning on doing a review of each product I got but then this blog post would be extremely long. I thought I would just show you some of the stuff I tried and absolutely loved. Like any beauty brand, the website featured some amazing products and it featured some really awful products. Most of the products are $1 but some have higher price points- none the less they were all pretty affordable. These products are great for beginners and even those who are pretty comfortable playing around with makeup!

a2o Foxy Eyeshadow Kit ($10)

I was very impressed with this eyeshadow kit. Now I know, this cost $10 but it includes 9 eyeshadow shades with a good mix between mattes and shimmers. I thought this was a full palette but it seems like it is individual shades that come along with the palette and you can arrange them however you would like. The palette has some really great pigment and it is a decent size for the price. However, I wish it included a nice crease shade that would work with the colors in the palette, besides that I think the palette was pretty good. The reason this was a bit more expensive is that you are technically pay $1 each for the shadows and then a $1 for the palette. However, I think is is just as good if not better than some of the drugstore palettes I have tried with this price range.

AOA POW-lighter: Astro($1)

This product was a like one of my favorite purchases. This is basically a loose highlighter but it looks AMAZING on the skin! It is not chunky or glittery and really just melts into your skin. This actually reminds me a lot of the artist couture loose highlighters- it might honestly be a really great dupe. One downside was that it is a bit on the tinier side but I think that it would still last me a pretty long time. They have a really good shade range and I think that they have something for just about any skin tone. For the quality and shade range, you are getting a good deal!

F19: Highlighter Brush ($1)

Your makeup application really depends on the brushes that you use. I only use to apply my highlighter with the Anastasia A25 highlighter brush. However, it sheds a lot and it is $25. I purchased this brush for applying highlighter and it is actually amazing. It is for highlighting but you can use it for different things like setting your under eyes or brushing away excess powder.I have washed it as well and it does not shed one but. I am actually super impressed with it!

AOA Wonder Cover Corrector – Peach ($1)

I normally don’t use color corrector under my eyes but this semester has me needing it. I bought their peach corrector mainly because all of the other ones were sold out ( but also for my under eyes). The packaging is a standard doe foot applicator. The product itself has an interesting smell but it it actually does wonders for your undereyes. The product is thick and dries down fast but you have to work a bit fast with it but it does WONDERS. My undereyes look so good with this on underneath and it does not budge once I apply it.

AOA Wonder Blender – Pink Beveled ($1)

I don’t have much to say about this product besides that it is actually pretty amazing! This is one of the best beauty sponges I have ever tried. It is super soft and really blends everything in seamlessly. I have tried a lot of off brand beauty blenders but this is by far one of the best ones I have come across. My beauty blenders tend to get beaten up pretty quickly because I use them so often and wash them just as often. I washed this one a couple of times and it did not budge. Since it is only $1, I don’t mind purchasing a replacement more often.

I actually had more items to share but they are no longer available on their website. For that reason I will not share them. However, I definitely recommend these products mentioned above. I feel like the items are such a hit or miss so you definitely have to be read the reviews and stuff. Let me know if you have ever shopped from this website before!
