Air Fryer Peri Peri Shrimp

Hello Everyone! A very late Ramadan Mubarak. I have been a bit MIA as alot has happened since I last posted but I am back … forreal this time. I am trying to eat healthier and become more fit. I have been trying a bunch of different recipes but this one has by far been the most successful yet.

I present to you a super easy peri peri shrimp recipe that takes less than 20 minutes to make. Yes, you heard me, less than 20 MINUTES. This recipe is perfect if you don’t have time to cook or need a quick bite. Now I will say that this is just my take on it, you can add or substitute any ingredients that you would like. So without further a do, here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

  1. Raw Jumbo shrimp ( tail or or off is fine). Wash it thoroughly.
  2. A bit of Avocado oil
  3. Salt & Pepper
  4. Roasted Garlic & herb seasoning
  5. Italian seasoning
  6. Trader Joe’s green goddess seasoning
  7. Garlic Power
  8. Chili powder or paprika ( just a tiny pinch)
  9. Trader Joe’s Peri Peri sauce
  10. Honey

Okay to start off, make sure you wash your shrimp thoroughly. You can choose to either keep the tail on or off. I chose to keep it on this time but I do prefer tail off. Also make sure it is de-vained haha. Pat the shrimp dry and transfer it into a mixing bowl. Now had Avocado oil- you can use any oil but I use avocado oil for it’s anti inflammatory properties. I use just a cap full, The amount of oil also depends on how many shrimps you are preparing- In my case I made one serving so I only used like 5-6 shrimps so a cap full was enough.

Now add all of the seasonings listed above. you can add the amount to your own liking. One thing that I do suggest, though, is to be cautious about the amount of chili powder you add… because well, you will see.Once all the spices have been added, give it all a good mix and make sure each and every piece of shrimp is well coated.

Now depending on how much time you have, you can let it marinate for a bit. The longer the better but, marination is not totally necessarily. I just let it marinate for 5 minutes. I then popped it into the air fryer. Make sure they are nicely spread out and not overlapping. Now put it in the air fryer for 7 minutes at 375.

While that is in the oven, it is time to prepare the sauce. I saw some Peri Peri sauce on my recent trip to Trader Joes and Decided to pick it up to try. I was not disappointed- but I will say it is really spicy. I add a bit of it in a mixing bowl. Since it is on the spicer side, I decided to mix in a bit of honey to give it a bit of a sweet and spicy kick. Mix it all together and make sure both honey and sauce are mixed well.

Now once the shrimp is all done, Pop it into the the mixing bowl with the sauce and give it a good toss. Mix it well into the sauce and make sure that it is all evenly coated.

That is it! That is how easy this recipe is. You can serve this with rice and a side of veggies. For me, I like to eat it with a nice Cesar salad to stay on the healthier side. Let me know what you guys think and definitely let me know if you try it out!
